Downgraded restaurant reviews:

Hot Spoon at Manufaktura - Downgraded across the board-
Frankly speaking the great initial  idea and taste has slowly faded away to my disappointment; what could have become a great Thai restaurant has now become the usual "here we go, bland taste all across" and I say this with sadness as in the beginning the promises where high and the quality was up there. Yes disappointed and sad, I do sincerely hope they get their act back together and deliver the food they served at the beginning with its explosion of different tastes bringing a absolute pleasure to the palate.

Bella Napoli at Manufaktura - Down graded

Been there few times, just to make sure I was not having one of those bad days that do happens, I still do have mixed feelings about this Restaurant.

Food wise, the main criticism has to be directed at the meet dishes, all the sauce I did try where bland and the steak not once was cooked as I wished or as the person that was with me requested.

As per the pasta dishes they where as I would expect from a Italian Restaurant with a Italian Chef. Their forte are the Fish dishes and frankly, I do now think, they should concentrate on that, unless they can get their act together on the meat side.

Service wise we still have it slow and slightly disorganized, but friendly. 

Yes the restaurant is benefiting being at Manufaktura, people just go in if they want a Italian meal,   even if I sound harsh I would raccomend the Kitchen team to get their act back together, because you can really do great thinks, but it seems at present that you are in a self content mode and this is quite sad.

the price do not match most of the Menu and I still considered slightly overpriced for what it delivers.

No seduction nor emotions in the cooking  Please please do start delivering the real taste you know how to, one can perceive it through the fish Dish, don't waste what could be a great kitchen.

I have just finished doing a full round of reviews plus visited a few new restaurants.
All will be said in the next two days, couple of downgrade a couple of upgrade and one under review...so enjoy the review in the next two days.

Hot spoon and Ato Sushi on watch

Two Restaurant on watch, I revisited Hor Spoon and Ato Sushi and here are my new comments:

Hot Spoon Manufaktura possible down grade to 3 star for food:

Slightly disappointed from my original visits and comments, it seems, sadly, that the sparkle is slowly fading away. The food was still good but, some how, the taste was getting blander and more homogeneous through out the plates. I must say that  I was taken aback and surprised as I remember my happiness to finally have found some real Thai taste, now not so sure anymore.  I do hope it was only a bad day but if it was not I am forced to review my original comments. Service still great - that saved the evening.

Ato Sushi in for a possible 6 star across the board:

I can Only say positive thinks bout it, I would highly recommend office outing there to, we had ours and I must say it was great, everyone was satisfied even those who do not eat sushi or sashimi. The Service was spot on and friendly. The food could not have been better.

Yes it still is in my top 5 Restaurant of Lodz, keep up the good work .

I am frankly considering putting a 6 star across if the all package stays as high as it is now.

Czeski Film, Tymienieckiego Street, Lodz

Ok....back and already trying something new...., the place is warm and the service good. 

I was tired and on my way back when I got in Lodz in the mid afternoon the first idea that came into mind was lets go and try Czeski.

Well, the place is not to close to the City center nor in a area that one goes by everyday but it is worth it a try and a stop.

The portions are big, the food is good and the service friendly.

Just a negative comment, the waiting was slightly to long for a half empty restaurant, however the waiter did come and apologize for it, a plus.

I would highly recommend the boar carpaccio however the salmon tartar was a touch to salty as per the rest it was good and with no complaints.

In my opinion it is a restaurant you should consider to go once in a while, I will do and enjoy the Czek specialities.

Back after a couple of weeks being away.....and here we go for the two newest review.

HOI-AN Oriental Restaurant, Piotrkowska 67 -Lodz

I am glad to say that a few new oriental restaurants opened in Lodz in the past few months.

Hoi - An in Piotrkowska 67 is a mixed fusion of Chinese and Vietnamese food. 

I walked by pure  chance in it, in fact it was not even my first choice, as the place looked quite empty, 

I must say it was a pleasant surprise after pleasant surprise as the food kept on coming and the taste and quality of it was great and the service well cared for. 

The evening passed quickly and at the end we where not only full and well fed but also very satisfied with the restaurant.

A great point in its favor is the fact that it is one of the few restaurant in Lodz that openly cater for family's with young children, they have organized a little children corner with pencil and paper and other games,  as the place is small it is easy to keep a eye on your child and enjoy the food.

Value wise it is very very good, in fact I would say one of the best so far, so if you are on a low budget and you want to enjoy good Chines/Vietnamese food in a nice surrounding this is the place to go.

One possible negative draw back for those who need a drink is that the restaurant does not have yet a license to sell alcohol, but I can guaranty you it did not make any difference to me.
I hope they keep the quality up and don't let it go down in time.

I racomend You to try at least once the Fried Hacao, the Frog legs in lemon grass, the duck Tonkin style, the Fried garlic rice and the fried eel and not to forget the Fins Hoi An on a hot dish.

Ato Sushi - ul. 6-go Sierpnia 1/3, Lodz

阿東寿司で素敵な食べ物, hehehe, now for all of us who do not speak nor read Japanese, this should say great food at Ato Sushi...well ----  yes it is ----

When you walk in you may feel the place is a mixture of fusion of styles, between the trandy, casual and arty - the tables are slightly close to each others but do not get bother by it, The food is impeccable, it is extremely good and to some extent, depending on the night, exceptional.  

The service is very friendly and professional even if you are served by the new waiter or waitress or even the new Sushi cook or his assistant.
The kitchen may have some bad days, but mostly even when under pressure because the place is full they do perform as one expect they should, and if they don't they do apologize to you in their own ways,  which makes you feel that they do really care about you. The hot food is also well done and prepared. The presentation of the Sushi, Sashimi and warm plates are good and most of the time above good.

The choices of Thèe and Sake is also great, giving you that extra flavor that most other Japanese restaurant, excluding a couple,  can not give you.

For some unspecific reason some time (rarely but they do happen) thinks for one reason or another are not up to the standard you expect or you may get seriously disappointed or nervous about what you have in front of you, well been a long term client I can tell you this moments are rare and in fact if they happen when you are there and by any chance they do not realize it, give them another chance. I have and am impressed by the continuity of the quality that has been kept by the team working there in the last 12 month.
By the way it is a Family friendly restaurant, so you have no excuse not to go, get your boy or girl - children are welcomed as adults :-) - and enjoy the lunch or/and  dinner.
